Dum Paneer Kali Mirch

Dum Paneer Kali Mirch is a North Indian preparation. If you want to have vegetarian preparation, Dum Paneer Kali Mirch is un-parallel. Its a combination of yogurt blended with mixed spices and fresh cream and coriander leaves, that makes the recipes unique and awesome.

DUM PANEER KALI MIRCH


Servings: 4
Ingredients:

Cottage Cheese (paneer) – 250 gms, to be cut in small cubes
Cloves – 4 pcs
Bay Leaves - 2
Green Cardamom – 4 pcs
Cinnamon – 1” piece
Onion paste – 1 medium
Ginger paste – 1 tbsp
Garlic Chili paste – 5/6 cloves of garlic and 4 green chili)
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Cumin powder – 3 tbsp
Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4th tbsp.
Kasmiri Red chili powder – 1/4th tbsp.
Red chili powder – ½ tbsp.
Yogurt – 3 tbsp
Salt – as per taste
Oil – 3 tbsp
Fresh Cream – ½ cup
Coriander – 2 tbsp, chopped

Preparation:

Heat Oil, add bay Leaves, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon and fry till it becomes fragrant.

Add Onion paste, cook well till the onion turns brownish in color.

Then add ginger paste, garlic chili paste. Sauté. Add yogurt, coriander powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, kashmiri chilli powder, red chili powder. Add Salt and cook for few minutes.

Add paneer cubes, mix them with the masala mixture, and add ½ cup water. cream as well as ½ cup water.

Seal the pan with foil and put the lid on top. Reduce flame to low and let it be for 15 to 20  minutes.

Open the lid, Check salt and serve garnished with Coriander and fresh cream.
